The Golf Experience at Belmont
The 18-hole Belmont championship course is one of the most beautiful and challenging courses in Northwest Ohio. With its enormous saucer-shaped bunkers, huge undulating greens, fairways lined with mature trees and shrubs, and six holes bordered by picturesque water hazards, Belmont was designed to be both an exciting challenger to the most expert tournament golfer and enjoyable to players of lesser proficiency.
The course imparts a rolling terrain and unusually large trees and greens, rare in this part of the country. Five man-made lakes enhance the challenge of the course, in addition to contributing to its scenic beauty. The long tees provide a choice of starting points, enabling the individual player to adjust the course to his level of skill.
Robert Bruce Harris was the original designer when the course opened in 1968, while world-renown architect Arthur Hills redesigned the course in the mid-1980's. The course design also incorporates a driving range, and a practice putting and pitching area.
