Belmont Golf Dress Code
As written in the Belmont Membership Handbook:
Golf is a fashionable sport, which requires all players to wear appropriate golf attire. If you have any questions, please check with the professional staff in the Belmont Golf Shop.
MEN may wear slacks, Bermuda or tailored shorts (no shorter than 3" above the knee). Cargo shorts are permitted provided they are similar to those sold in the Belmont Golf Shop. For the upper body, men may wear collared polo shirts, mock or full turtleneck shirts or sweaters. Shirts must always be tucked into the pants or shorts. Hats/caps must be worn forward at all times. Golf shoes must be equipped with soft spikes.
WOMEN may wear slacks, Bermuda length or tailored shorts (no shorter than 3" above the knee), and Capri or ankle length slacks. Women may wear sleeveless blouses or shirts, with or without a collar. Golf shoes must be equipped with soft spikes.
Attire not permitted:
MEN - Slacks or shorts made of denim or blue jeans, short or cut-off shorts, tennis or sailing shorts, and athletic warm-up suits. Also not allowed are slogan type tee-shirts, sleeveless shirts or tank-tops.
WOMEN - Slacks or shorts made of denim or jeans, short or cut-off shorts, tennis or sailing shorts, and athletic warm-up suits. Slogan type tee-shirts are not allowed.
Any member, guest, or outside party not conforming to the dress code will be so advised by a member of the Golf Professional staff or Club Manager's staff. Depending on the nature of the infraction, a member not conforming to the dress code will receive an informational letter from the golf committee. Repeated incidents will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis by the Golf Committee and/or the Belmont Board of Directors.
If in doubt, always check with a member of the Golf Professional staff if there is a question as to what attire is appropriate. It is the member's responsibility to inform his/her guests of the dress code to insure compliance.
