PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

Dear Members,

As we begin a new club year at Belmont, I want to share how excited we are to welcome everyone back to the club. This is always a special time of year, and we look forward to another great season of golf, camaraderie, and continued improvements around the club.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be wrapping up several elements of the renovation project, including the addition of new tee boxes on holes 7 and 16. As play gets underway, please be mindful that some newly seeded areas will take time to fully establish. We ask that you treat these areas as ground under repair and avoid them with carts to help ensure proper growth.

I also want to provide an update on the golf course restoration fundraising campaign. We have had a strong early response, with more than 60 families contributing a total of $460,000 to date. We are grateful for this support. Our goal is to have all golf members participate so that we can fully fund Phase 2 and continue making meaningful improvements this fall. If you have not yet contributed, we encourage you to consider doing so.

To help illustrate the impact of the restoration work, I have included two photos below—one showing a newly renovated bunker and another of a bunker that has not yet been renovated. The difference is especially noticeable following our recent heavy rains, where the improved bunkers provide significantly better drainage, playability and consistency.

We are also continuing to invest your capital dollars back into the club. At our March Board of Directors meeting, we approved several improvements, including the purchase of a new Sand Pro machine to better maintain our bunkers. We also approved the addition of more lockers in the men’s locker room to ensure every member has access, while allowing room for anticipated growth this spring. In addition, the divider netting in the activity center will be adjusted to improve functionality for our tennis and pickleball players.

Finally, our social calendar is shaping up to be an exciting one, thanks to the efforts of our Social Committee, led by Kathleen Bannister. Upcoming events include Name That Tune, Men’s Opening Day, and our Kentucky Derby Party. For a full list of upcoming events, please click here to view the complete club calendar. We hope you will take advantage of these opportunities to connect and enjoy all that Belmont has to offer.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to me at blagusch@gmail.com. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to seeing you at the club soon.

Regards,
Brad Lagusch

Member Update: Transition to Jonas Club Management Software

We are pleased to share an important update regarding enhancements to the club’s technology systems.

Effective April 1, the club officially began transitioning to Jonas Club Management, a leading software platform widely regarded as the gold standard in the club and hospitality industry. This new system will replace our legacy TAI software and represents a significant upgrade that will benefit both our members and our staff.

Jonas Club Management offers a more modern, intuitive, and user-friendly experience, allowing for improved account access, streamlined communication, and more efficient club operations. Over the next two months, our team will be working closely with this platform to ensure a smooth transition and become fully proficient in both front-of-house and back-of-house functions.

Please note that golf operations will remain unchanged during this transition. Members may continue to use ForeTees for tee times and Golf Genius for scoring, as these systems are not affected by the software change.

As part of this rollout, we will be launching a new club website and mobile app powered by Jonas. Once these tools are ready, we will host several informal member training and overview receptions. These sessions will provide demonstrations of the new system, assistance with logging in, and guidance on navigating the platform, ensuring members feel comfortable and confident using the new tools.

Should you have any questions or concerns during the transition, please do not hesitate to contact the club at 419-666-0440. Our staff will be happy to assist you.

This transition marks an exciting step forward for the club, and we look forward to introducing our members to the enhanced experience made possible by Jonas Club Management.

 Dear Belmont Country Club Members,

We are looking forward to a great upcoming season.

The Golf Shop is pleased to share that club repair services will be starting up for the season, including golf club regripping. Fresh grips are a great way to start the year and can make a significant difference in both comfort and performance on the course.

If you are interested in having your clubs regripped, please reach out to us at golfshop@belmontcc.com, and we will be happy to assist you. Trevor will be overseeing the process this season and is available to help with any questions or scheduling needs.

We look forward to helping you get your equipment ready and to seeing you around the club soon.

Best regards,
Belmont Golf Shop

News from the Grounds

As you are aware, part of the course renovation work was the addition of new fairway and chipping areas. With the number of new areas, we chose to seed these areas rather than the sod. The good news is that some of this new seed has started to be mowed. The ideal seeding window in Northwest Ohio is roughly mid-August through September. Due to the timing of our project, all the seeded areas were done outside that timing window.  We will continue to seed into thin areas. I anticipate as soil temperatures warm, this new seed will really pop.
