GOLF COURSE RESTORATION NEWS

Weekly Golf Course Restoration Announcement

Dear Fellow Members,

I’d like to take a moment of your time to update you on the exciting changes happening to our golf course and to ask for your support. Thanks to your survey feedback, we are focusing on the areas of the course that you identified as most important: bunkers, drainage, and course playability for all skill levels. You’ll soon be able to see the transformation taking shape across Belmont, with work underway to reestablish our club as a premier golfing experience in Northwest Ohio. We’re currently working on holes 5, 6, 7, and 14 and are adding new bunkers, drainage, and tee boxes. Be on the lookout for video updates in our weekly email newsletters so you can see our progress firsthand.

The difficult conditions of play this spring and summer reinforced how vital it is to address these foundational issues once and for all. Our greens crew has spent over 500 hours so far in 2025 repairing rain-damaged bunkers. Between March 15 and May 31, carts were restricted for 19 days (nearly a quarter of the early season), disrupting member play and reducing guest, cart, and clubhouse revenue. These renovations will free up time for our expert greens crew, allowing them to devote their energies to enhancing other areas of the course. Additional upgrades are planned for Fall 2026 to keep Belmont strong for the future.

This golf course renovation will require us to raise funds in excess of $2M, and we need your help to make it possible, as our current funds do not cover the cost of this project. Thanks to early commitments from our Board of Directors and Fundraising Committee, more than $180,000 has already been pledged to launch the campaign. Belmont is a unique community, and we believe we can reach our goals together. The cost of this renovation works out to approximately $6,500 per golf member, and we hope this helps guide your giving as you consider how to invest in the place where you and your family create lasting memories.

These fundraising efforts express our commitment to doing all we can to prevent the need for a mandatory assessment. We understand that every member’s circumstances are different, and any contribution will make a difference. Your generous contribution will directly support the improvements and continued success of the golf course. We can offer phased payment plans to support your gifting, and in the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing our donor tiers and a donor recognition plan that we hope will adequately demonstrate our deep gratitude for your membership and commitment to this club. You can also help by spreading the word to fellow members that we are looking for support.

Lastly, please join us at the clubhouse at 6:00 PM on October 22, 2025 for an all-member meeting where you’ll get an inside look at our progress. Golf course architect Brian Huntley will be there to provide insights on the renovations and all of our members will have the opportunity to ask questions about construction, fundraising, and more. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be provided. RSVP to lross@belmontcc.com or 419-666-0440 by October 19, 2025.

Thank you for your dedication and support. We are excited to take this next step with you.

Sincerely,

Todd Sattler
